As the borders worldwide are slowly opening up again and you get to travel again, you will want to choose your next holiday destination carefully. Resorts in the Maldives make social distancing easy, as there is mostly only one resort one each remote island, which only allows a limited number of people at the same time. Here are some tips to keep in mind while travelling to Maldives post-COVID-19:

1. Travel guidelines in place for inbound travellers

For the safety of everyone, the Health Protection Agency of the Maldives has made it mandatory for all inbound travellers to present a negative PCR test certificate on arrival. The test result should be not older than 96 hours.Electronic Health Declaration:all travellers to the Maldives are required to submit a health declaration within 24hrs prior to their arrival to the Maldives.
Guests with a history of contact with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 within the past 14 days and/or persons who have a fever or respiratory symptoms such as cough, sore throat, shortness of breath within the past 14 days should not travel to the Maldives.
It is recommended that you research the airline safety and hygiene measures, as well as their requirements when processing the booking.

2. COVID-19 Insurance for inbound travellers

Allied Insurance company of the Maldives has a COVID-19 insurance plan that covers you for specific expenses you may incur due to a positive diagnosis of Covid-19 while on holiday in the Maldives. You may choose this plan prior to your journey and enjoy your holiday in the Maldives with the assurance of safety and peace of mind.

3. Choose a resort close to the airport

Travelling from the international airport in Male to your resort can be a hassle if you have to catch another domestic or seaplane flight. Resorts like Baros Maldives are close enough to the airport that you can reach the resort within a 25 min speedboat ride. You will be picked up directly from the international arrival terminal at the airport and escorted to the speedboat. There is no need to queue for any further check-in or airport lounges to wait for your transfer as the speedboat will be waiting for you.

4. Resorts follow strict health protocols and medical care is available

Naturally, most resorts in the Maldives have ramped up their hygiene and safety protocols, guidelines and rules from the governments and WHO but also to make sure their guests can enjoy their holidays in comfort and safety. Temperature checks and slightly adjusted service procedures are implemented carefully to not disrupt your resort experience.

5. Choose a resort that is experienced in hospitality and guest care

However luxurious an island resort is, for the perfect holiday you need assured service and genuine care and attention. Make sure your resort is communicating well and informs you on all travel guidelines and updated for the Maldives. Further, you would want to book a resort that has a flexible cancellation policy in case you are not able to go on your trip due to travel restrictions or health. With nearly five decades of hosting visitors, and an award-winning team, Baros is a legend in enjoyable hospitality and the resort has adjusted its cancellation policy for COVID-19 related travel limitations.
