FESTIVE SEASON IN THE MALDIVES

It is that time of the year again, to reflect on the past 12 months and the desire awakens to celebrate the achievements and let go of challenges and hardship that the year has put upon us. What a wonderful occasion to celebrate in one of the most beautiful spots in the world – the Maldives. Many resorts create magical moments and extensive festive programmes for their guests with dining experiences full of splendour and delicacies from all over the world.

This festive season, we invite you to “Reconnect at Baros” within the magical festive ambience on our blissful island. We have created a very special festive program, with the best experiences that Baros can offer, ranging from superb culinary events, romantic sunset cruises and adventurous diving excursions designed especially for you.

1. CULINARY EVENTS

The Culinary Journey at Baros marks the occasion with blissful escapades like dining on the sandbank underneath a million stars or a Jazz and Champagne Dinner in The Lighthouse. During the festive evenings, the Baros Palm Garden welcomes you with live music and buffet dinners including ‘Grills of The World’ BBQ, ‘Tastes of Asia’, and the ‘Maldivian Experience’ buffet.

The Palm Garden turns into a magically lit hub of festive events, especially on Christmas and New Years’ Eve with the annual gala dinner and a countdown gathering on the Lime Restaurant Deck to welcome the New Year of 2021.

During the Festive Season, the iconic Lighthouse Restaurant curates special Gourmet Experiences for guests to celebrate romance and intimacy. The Festive Gourmet Gala Dinners on Christmas and New Year’s Eve are preceded by a sunset cocktail on the sandbank – exclusively for Lighthouse Guests.

2. MALDIVIAN TRADITIONAL SHOW

Part of the festive programme is the traditional Maldivian Cultural Event, where the Palm Garden will be transformed into a Maldivian Village. A Bodu Beru group will play drums, sing and dance; there will be a coconut climber, demonstrations of Maldivian cooking and displays of the art of leaf folding. You will get to know the Maldivian dresses and traditional clothes, showcased in the typical way of island life, with local handicrafts on display. A special Maldivian Buffet will be served giving guests the unique opportunity to taste and try and local delicacies, found in every Maldivian kitchen.

UNDERWATER FESTIVITIES

As every year, the dive team takes divers out for the first dive of the year for the ‘New Year’s Day Dive’. There couldn’t be a better and fresher way to start into 2021 than enjoying the colourful and vibrant underwater world of the Maldives.

Guests who can’t get enough of the beautiful colours the Baros House Reef has to offer and want to try something out of the ordinary can opt-in to join a Fluo Night Dive. Equipped with a special blue light and filters for your mask you can see the reef in a different way.

At night some underwater marine life glows like neon if you shine your light on them, which reveals amazing colours… blue, yellow, green, pink…you have to see it to believe it.

4. A UNIQUE SPA CELEBRATION

As recent months have been exhausting for body and mind, Baros has created A Unique Spa Celebration at Serenity Spa. This focuses on inner recovery and the harmonisation of energy flow. The varied options of the holistic spa treatments are curated to inspire guests to feel relaxed, rejuvenated and restored. This helps to start the New Year afresh, leaving the hardship and challenges of 2020 far behind.
